I have enough cheese and crackers for 8 people...do you think that's enough?

There isn't much of a different between the two…however for those sticklers out there I’ll explain the difference.

Hors d’oeuvre are truly meant to be finger goods that are often passed around a cocktail reception.  Appetizers tend to be more of a first course and often a bit heavier. Appetizers are often served when guest are seated for dinner.

Tricks to Remember Table Settings

FORKS 
Emily Post suggest picturing the word FORKS (minus the R) to remember place settings and reading from left to right- F (Fork) O (Shape of the Plate) R (guess you can make that keep going right) K (Knife) S (Spoon).

BMW 
This is the one I was raised with, again reading and looking left to right. The Bread is to your left, your Meal is in the middle, and your Water is on the right.
